Creating a Daily Routine:
As a caregiver there will be times that you are thankful that the end of the day has come, and you can get in bed, sleep, and recover from the day. Morning comes very quickly, and the day starts all over again. For us as the caregiver it can be somewhat like the movie “Groundhog Day.” Doing the same thing repeatedly, reliving a typical day. However, this repetitious routine is not a bad thing for those with Alzheimer’s. Routine is good. Routine is comforting. Routine is a necessity as you go through the day. Having a routine keeps you on the right path, keeping those caregiving chores in play. Routine provides purpose in getting up for the day.
