Someone with Alzheimer’s or a related disorder are in their own reality. Between hallucinations, delusions and delirium, they endure a totally different perception of the world than we do. In order to help them cope with their cycles of hallucinations, delusions and delirium we learn to get into their reality. They are unable to relay to us their feelings, so we learn to make decisions for them with compassion and advocacy.
